How to improve macbook performance?

Hi people!
I have a question like this:
I have a white macbook 6.1
I want to learn to program in swift on it, but this requires OS 10.10 or 10.11 to install xCode 6.4 or 7 version. My Yosemity is very slow on the configuration of my computer.
CPU Core2duo 2.23Ghz
Ram 3gb DDR3
HDD 250gb
Actually the question itself: I have 50-60 euros I can buy either operatively. 2-4 gb memory or an SSD drive, what exactly will help my computer come to life and work comfortably without lags and brakes?
If the question is not adequate, then I will try so, what should I buy first?

The percentage is weak, ssd is needed and RAM!
But I think in your case ssd will help more
