How to improve FTP speed in Windows?
There is Windows 7.
A 28 MB file is uploaded to a remote FTP server using standard Windows tools - 2 minutes. 10 sec.
The same file is loaded via Total Commander (passive FTP mode) in about 9 seconds.
What is the difference? How can I make Windows load the file faster by default?
Brandmaur and antivirus is disabled. Windows is fresh. Changes have been made to the settings in Total Commander, the
UploadBlockSize=99999999999 parameter is set, which, as I understand it, significantly speeds up the download.

Leading questions:
1. What are "standard means"?
2. Is the influence of the cache and / or the presence of an already uploaded file on the speed measurement excluded? FTP supports skipping already existing files, eg. And perhaps TC simply does not download the file, but checks its size. That's why it's so fast.
3. it is desirable to use the binary mode of loading, if the file is still binary. If the answer to question No. 1 == "ftp.exe", then before starting to upload the file, you will need to set that mode with the binary command. If you do this in batch mode, you will have to sculpt a small script, which is then fed to ftp.exe through the -s switch. To check, you can do it manually. Connect to the server, write binary, and then put with the file name. And freeze. The same ftp.exe has the -w switch, which sets the window size for exchanging data with the server. But I'm not sure what exactly it does.
If automation is needed, then I can recommend using one of the more old-school tools like the same wput. It has both modes switched from the command line, and frames, and logging.
