How to implement progress saving in JS game (clicker)?

I'm making a simple text clicker game.
Question.
How to save progress (save game balance) if you exit the page.
And yet,
If one block (main) with display: block. Then it becomes display:none (closing the main menu and opening a new one, with different buttons) and then the main menu again display:block, will the progress be saved
