How to get the first installs on Google Play?
I decided to develop applications for Android and publish them on Google Play. I have never had experience using this site before, therefore, in order to understand the basic principles of its work, I made and published a puzzle game in a couple of evenings. The results did not meet any of my expectations - 3 installs in 5-7 days (and from friends and acquaintances) ... As I found out later, games with low ratings are not displayed even in the search, regardless of the content of the search query - I type the exact name of the game , and in the search I get everything except for it.
In conclusion, the question itself: how to get this very "rating" so that people can find the game even in the search? I have no desire to spend money on articles for 16k, perhaps for larger projects this will be optimal, but then how can a small puzzle break into people?

“I made several stools here in a couple of evenings. In 5 days, 3 sales, and then for friends. How to make people come to me and buy stools? I don’t see the point in investing in advertising, opening a furniture store, I don’t make sofas. ..".
"I made a site about butterflies in a couple of evenings. In 5 days, 3 visits - 2 from friends and 1 from a Google robot. How can I make traffic come to me? I don’t see any sense in investing in content and seo-promotion, not plastic windows I'm selling..."
I think the meaning is clear :)
No one scours the playmarket sandbox in search of unknown puzzles, stuck together on their knees in a couple of evenings. No one goes from door to door with the words: "You don't sell anything? Otherwise, you never know, maybe you did something in a couple of evenings, but pay for advertising with a buzz"
Playmarket is just a platform that does not guarantee installs. The closest example is the now hyped Nimses app. It was released in February and hung like a dead weight for 4 months (despite all the "innovation" and philosophy, yeah), until the developers found a budget for:
And only after that the hype began, hell and Israel, the top 1 App Store, etc.
Strongly promote, there is no other way. Even about hype apps (like pokemon go, prisma) the world has to learn from somewhere before going crazy over them.
Who knows, my several applications (App-reference-book) almost immediately began to be found through search, through new items, etc. I didn’t do advertising and PR for these applications at all, nevertheless, now there are almost 250.000 downloads...
It’s better to collect the first installs through specialized services for cheating installs, because it gives a good boost for your application and stores start indexing it.
Of course, stores don’t like such methods, but they don’t mind)
