How to get rid of window blinking when starting Windows Media Player?

Situation: video playback is started in full screen by launching wmplayer.exe from a batch file. Everything works but at startup a small black window of the player appears for a couple of seconds. Is there any way to get rid of it?
Or is there an alternative to Windows Media Player for this task?
