How to get rid of the voltage drop when starting the electric motor?

There is a 12V electric motor (windshield washer pump from a VAZ-2110 car), which is controlled by an arduino (via a relay). All this is powered by a 350W computer power supply. When the electric motor starts, there is a voltage drop for a time of about 1-2 seconds, during which, of course, the arduin has time to restart. The question is how to get rid of this effect, in other words, how to make the motor start smoothly? Or - how to limit the current consumption of the motor (let it start slowly and sadly, spin badly, but consume less)? What other options can be for solving this problem (another power supply)?

Use not a relay, but a field effect transistor and PWM. This will allow you to smoothly increase the current in the motor, increasing the coefficient. filling PWM.
If the arduina is powered from 12V, then you can alleviate the symptoms a little by connecting it
through a diode, followed by a capacitor to power the arduino, closer to the arduino itself ... (circled in red) 35781f484aaa40adbcabaf2b6ede7145.JPG
There is also the option that your arduin is connected directly to the winding relay and it goes into short circuit when you try to open the relay :)
Or when starting the engine, a powerful pickup occurs if it lies close. This is a proven solution!
Use step start on two relays! First, connect a relay with a powerful current-limiting resistor (from the same VAZ), then turn on a second relay that will exclude this resistor, although this is already the last century

Select the value of C1 until the drawdown disappears, then increase by 2 times and leave
Select any convenient VD2 for direct current 1-2A and higher Select
R1 output for a power of 0.125W and higher (SMD 1206 and larger)

Treat the disease, not the symptoms - provide the engine with the necessary power and will not sag.
