How to get rid of a virus (trojan) with ads in browsers?
Hello.
I caught a virus (trojan) when I needed to download files from a file sharing service. He gave me the installer for his Mega Uploader. And now in any browser, when it is opened, some left page is loaded + extra content (banners, scripts, etc.) is loaded on other sites.
How to cure it?

In such cases, SpyBot Search and Destroy helps with fresh databases.
There is also a good HiJack This utility .
Both are free. In principle, you can use pens, but those who know how to use pens will not let the Trojan into the system anyway.
Further:
1. Reinstallation is still more reliable
2. Antivirus is not an antimalware, although it is in such situations that it often still helps, if normal. Those. it is necessary to set and regularly use a decent anti-malware, while:
- not falling for the bait and not putting the "left" "anti-malware", which is the other way around)
- filtering anti-malware recommendations, because they are often paranoid (or inflate their worth) and pass off as problems that they are not.
You can install a firewall, but it is inconvenient with it, even when you know what has the right to climb into the network and what does not. But if you set it up correctly, it will be calmer.
3. In addition to the head, nothing will save! Do not click on the big DOWNLOAD buttons of any left "software" on suspicious pages anymore, especially if there are a lot of such buttons. Here you need to think with your head and read what relates to what, look at what the status line shows when you hover over the link \ button that they offer to download (file name, extension). If a page looks suspicious, you can look elsewhere, usually there are more than one.
No antivirus will give a 100% guarantee of virus removal. On a compromised computer, it is better to reinstall Windows with formatting the system partition. It is advisable to check the rest of the partitions with a LiveCD with a fresh antivirus.
Try to start by simply uninstalling what you installed through the control panel. If this does not help, then we look at what we have in startup, including through the registry. Then we look at what we have in the browser settings, often such slag prescribes its pages and plugins there.
Try to tritely recreate the browser shortcut, often in its properties it is additionally prescribed to launch an application that slips ads to you, etc.
