Patience and work will grind everything, as they say. You have to force yourself, day after day, without interruption. The brain gradually adapts and the process will go easily and naturally.
What are some tips on how to tune in to reading?
Try to move it to the morning (if you sleep with an open window, then you get enough sleep by 4 in the morning).
Find a quiet place. Consider potential workplace distractions and choose where there will be the least of them.
The ideal place will depend on the person: if the presence of other people distracts you, you should not choose a library or a common room in the house. If noise is your biggest concern, a library might be the perfect option for you.
You should also avoid those places that you associate with other activities: this can also serve as a distraction. If you decide to work out in a room that has a TV, for example, you might end up being tempted to turn it on. A bed for some may be the right place to work, but for some it may make you want to sleep.
If you have chosen a certain place, thinking that it will suit you, and then find that some factor still distracts you, leave this place and go to a place where this factor will not be. If you force yourself to ignore distractions while trying to read or study, your attention will definitely not be on the current task.
