How not to fall asleep while reading?
As a child, it was possible to read for hours without stopping, and now after 10 pages even an interesting book makes me sleepy. This is basically what happens when reading any large amount of information, as if this skill has atrophied.
There is very little information on the internet about this.

I am reading the book "Learning C#" 3rd ed. Stillman E., Green J.. It just uses techniques that make the brain perceive the book as "something important" and turn off the block against unnecessary information. If only everyone would write books like that!)

Therefore, it is better to read them little by little (if they are not really captivating, like some problem books). Then what you read will remain in your memory.
Interesting books - a good science fiction, a detective story, a novel - force you to follow the plot, think out and assume a denouement, and then you won’t fall asleep. You "swallow" such books in three days.
Therefore, when you need to master a large amount of "useful" information, I alternate it with fiction - like a lesson and a break. Great help.

It all depends on the purpose for which you read. If you need to read a textbook or specialized literature, then it is better not to read in bed when reading. Sit at the table and read. Need to study it overnight? Then drink plenty of fluids and get up every half hour to an hour and do some physical exercise.
If you are reading a work of fiction, then there are really only two reasons why you fall asleep quickly: either you did not get enough sleep, or the book is not so interesting. Try reading during the day and see how your body reacts. Whether you want to sleep or not.

Personally, I realized for myself that the problem is ordinary fatigue and insufficient light. This is especially true if you read paper books. When I read from a computer screen in a lighted room, I do not get tired, unless, of course, the book is completely dull. On the other hand, both of my parents cannot read books at all - my eyes get tired quickly, I want to sleep.

The brain is like a huge muscle that needs to rest. I had the same problem. After 2 hours of searching the Internet for a solution, I realized that if you feel sleepy, then this is normal. You just need to go to sleep. When you pull up or do push-ups, you don’t continue further when you are no longer strong, you just go to rest - and then the number of lifts you have increases. Just go to sleep with your brain. After sleep, the number of pages will increase.
