Judging by the silence on the Internet - only I noticed what a miserable default photo viewer in the top ten. The 21st century is in the yard, and he doesn’t even know how to flip through the pictures (if you open the photo with a double click, and not from the collection).
+ runs a few seconds on the ssd.
Question: how to return what was? Do not offer third-party viewers.

I have a standard "Windows Photo Viewer" in 10-ke as it was in 7-ke and 8-ke.
In the "photos" application, photos from the Internet (and gifs!) randomly thrown into a folder are easily switched with the mouse (arrows on the edges of the screen) and keyboard arrows.

So what's stopping you from replacing the default 10ki with the default 7ki?
Context menu - open with - advanced - select "Windows Photo Viewer" (it was the default in 7k) and check the box to use this application for ...
At what stage did you have a problem?
if for some reason it is not there then
load shimgvw.dll to C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
start-run regsvr32 shimgvw.dll reboot
