How to get data about viewing sites or queries in a user's Google?

Most often, I began to notice how large sites without the use of Google Adsence and Google Adwords show ads on their site (their personal ads) that are shown with my interests that I google or visit, for example VK Advertising, so I have a question how do they do it? And is there a way to do it yourself on your site? Well, or perhaps you know similar technologies that determine what users are searching for or what they visit?
