How to get a good job in it?

Hello everybody. I am considering the option of getting a good job as a programmer in 5 years (I liked the training areas at SPBAU) Now I am zero in programming, I have no soft skills. I'm 22, I'm enrolled in a university as an economy faculty in my 3rd year, but I don't study at all. I am considering two scenarios. The first is to pass the exam with 90+ points for admission to universities: St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (priority), St. Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Bauman MSTU. It will be necessary to allocate 4-5 hours every day for preparation for 9 months.
The second is through self-education: first, books, courses (from the same SPBAU annual type Data Analysis, Programming Fundamentals and Stepika), then to the office as a trainee. There are gaps in mathematics, computer science - I will fill them through online courses, textbooks. I also want, in parallel, to study layout as a part-time job, the basics of web design, then, developing, to become a front-end and full-stack in about 3-4 years. Pros: there will be a bachelor's degree in economics.
Which is better, do you think? A full education in a good university or self-education.

In this context, self-education is better, an economist-programmer somehow looks bad IMHO. And then - freelancing at the beginning, for food, part-time, after the main job. Maybe you'll get a "good" job.

never use the word "settle" in relation to work.
it distorts the meaning of looking for a job and achieving goals, implying a soviet freebie and a warm place.

1. Change your status. And attitude to life. More optimism.
2. In IT now they take everyone, semi-specialists, non-specialists, non-specialists. Personnel hunger.
