How to force the iPhone not to disconnect from the wifi network?
The situation is the following. I am engaged in the creation of a smart home and at the moment there is a problem of determining the presence of any of the tenants in the house. I want the system to automatically determine whether someone is at home or not. Depending on this status, different actions are performed.
There are 3 people in the house, all have smartphones: 2 androids and one iPhone5S. The house has a always-on wifi point and all phones also have wifi activated. A script runs on the home server, which pings all phones with a short interval, and if at least one pings on the home network, then someone is at home.
With androids, everything works just fine. iPhone saves battery power, so periodically and quite often it disconnects from the wireless network and, accordingly, becomes unavailable.
In this regard, I have a question, how to make it stay online all the time? Or maybe there will be some other ideas how to determine that the iPhone is within network coverage?
Do not offer to change iPhone to Android :)

Having traveled around the world and lived in different houses, I realized the ideal system for determining a person at home is a light switch card, I came in and turned on the light, without a card everything turns off except for sockets, a computer, a refrigerator, and at your discretion, the system works perfectly, as simple as two pennies , damn convenient, you never worry that you left something turned on at home, the same iron or tile.
Everything else is not for life, a person does not need too much smart, a person is pleased with simple and understandable solutions, well, my phone is dead and that your system is cutting light for me?
Apple technology sometimes doesn't work well with some routers. The point is the automatic selection of the channel by the router. Users recommend disabling the roaming helper, disabling auto-detection of the channel, and manually setting the freest channel on the router. This article analyzes the shortcomings of the iPhone SE and I read about the unstable operation of WIFI and the method of treatment there.
There is a bossprefs utility , but it seems to be installed only on a jailbroken phone, through Cydia.
Install a jail (at the moment, a jail is available only for version 7.0.6 and below, there is no jail for 7.1 and will not be) and download applications in Cydia.
How to make a jail and all dances with a tambourine can be easily googled.
I still want to dig through options without having to jailbreak.
There is one option, but I also don't really like it. There is such an application prowl . Using it via api, you can send push notifications to your phone. You can send a push message just before the ping, the phone will connect to wifi and be available. But this option doesn’t make me particularly happy either, after all, there is a dependence on a third-party service.
