How to force i3status to use a specific font for icons (Awesome)?

Customized i3status icons, installed Awesome font. I copied the icons from the Awesome site and added i3status to my config, everything worked fine. Was pleased with the result. Then I needed other fonts, installed some, but after adding new fonts, all the icons in the i3status bar have changed and do not suit me.

How can I force the i3status config to exclusively use the Awesome font?

I saw on the Internet how they added something similar to the “bar” block:

bar {
        font pango:FontAwesome 8
        position top
        status_command i3status
}

But it did not help me, maybe an error in the compilation of the block?
