How to fix Read-only file system error?

Installed the iterm2 application, trying to open

code ~/.zshrc
, but throws an error. I found a guide how to fix it, I go along the way
cd /usr/local/bin
nano code
change python => python3 on the following line

but when saving it gives an error
Cannot open file for writing: Read-only file system
