The first time I encountered this: I uploaded a site on joomla to hosting. The decor fell off. I look - a bunch of 404. It turns out that all links to images and scripts began to have addresses:
https:// site.ru/site.ru/ picture.jpg

How to fix this?

The base was crookedly transferred?
Is the editor built-in, or do you edit the code manually? Perhaps the address is specified in full in the code itself, https://site.ru/images/img1.jpg, and not /images/img.jpg and in the settings "substitution" of the address is written, so the duplication of site.ru is obtained

Everything turned out to be simple. it was necessary to remove the site name in the $live_site line in configuration.php
