There is a company website on the Joomla engine. The design is very weak, but the SEO performance is good.
Tell me if it is possible to transfer to a new template so that internal links are preserved and in general how this process will look like or is it impossible?

The template will not affect internal links in any way if you understand what you are doing.
If you do not understand and plan to click "change template" in the admin panel, then it's a lottery.
Contact a specialist - they will do it for you.
