How to fix alsamixer settings?
Hello!
I work with sound in Ubuntu 14.04. The problem is that I can't fix (save) the desired level settings in alsamixer (tried sudo alsactl store 0 and also commented out the load-module module-device-restore line in the /etc/pulse/default.pa file). When the computer is restarted and when devices are connected/disconnected to the line and microphone connectors, the alsamixer settings change. And I need to rebuild the levels for the line-in and microphone and save them. How to solve the issue correctly?

First, as far as I know, pulseaudio is responsible for the sound in recent versions, and alsamixer is not exactly what you might need.
Secondly, I've never noticed someone like you, are you sure you don't use Skype with automatic microphone volume control or something like that?
It was not possible to fix the settings "forever", but I saved the necessary settings with the command alsactl -f my_asound.state store
,
and inserted the restoration of the settings into my program:alsactl -f my_asound.state restore
alsactl store keep track
of which user the story is from
