How to fix a problem when running the Cmospwd program on Linux?
Hello. The essence of the question is this:
I need a BIOS, but they gave me a laptop. It was passed on! And so, on it there is a password which I do not know. I'm on Linux Mint xfce x64. I installed the cmospwd program with the command:
sudo apt install cmospwd
But when I enter, I sudo cmospwd /k
select item 2, then I write:
Need to be run as root to access the Cmos.
sudo su
, and after cmospwd /k
, but nothing works. Although I'm under the Root user. I don't want to disassemble my laptop. What to do in this situation?
