How to find truecrypt master key?
There is an external usb hard drive, it had 1 partition for truecrypt. Everything would be fine if one day I didn’t take it too much chtol?
// I don’t understand how it happened, but at that moment he clearly slammed. It became so bad from this sound and not in vain. It looks like the head is shuffling over the disk.
Now the piece of iron itself works, but for some reason the partition is defined as ntfs. When trying to mount using TC, it writes "the password is not correct or is not ...", it was not possible to restore the partition with testdisk, even more so to pull out the files, it is actually raw.
As far as a cursory Google showed, the TS writes a master key encrypted with my password to the beginning of the section, and there it was damaged. For some reason, in the back of my mind, it looms that there is a copy at the end of the section. This is true? If yes, how to look for it?
Thanks to everyone in advance for the answers, yes, it’s my own fault, there was nothing to press the disk and I had to make a backup copy, etc., but we have what we have ((

From a certain version, yes, at the end of the section there is a copy of the key and he tries to use it AUTOMATICALLY if at the beginning of the section he could not decrypt your key.
There are only 3 places where there is a master key
- the beginning of the disk
- the end of the disk
- your backup ...
Didn't find what you were looking for?
