How to find out what mailbox (folder) it is from when receiving a letter via IMAP?
Those. Is it from inbox, outbox, spam or somewhere else?
It is clear that you can, of course, go through all the folders separately in order and find out what's new in a particular folder, but hardly anyone does this. They take something in droves from the root, but how then to distribute them to one or another folder? imap_headerinfo does not give any information about the box.

All incoming mail goes to the inbox. The mail client, as a rule, lays it out in folders. Otherwise, yes, just query all required folders or, if the server supports it, subscribe to IMAP NOTIFY events for the folders you are interested in.
