How to find out the Windows activation key knowing only the license serial number?

There is a Windows box. It has a license serial number on it. But there are no stickers with a key. The sticker on the case is also unreadable. Winda died and there is no way to find out the key by the script. Is it possible to find out the activation key by the serial number of the license?
