One of the easiest ways to identify a Microsoft product by key is to download the Volume Activation Management Tool 2.0 from the Microsoft website. After installing and running this utility, go to the Product Keys section, enter the existing key and click Verify. After some time of searching, the utility will display inf. about the product to which the entered key belongs.

If it says Windows 8.1, it means normal home, Windows 8.1 SL means for one language, Windows 8.1 Pro means professional.
