How to find a monitor without backlight PWM flicker?

It's no secret that the "brightness" in the settings of the vast majority of monitors is actually a quick turn on / off of the backlight using pulse width modulation. Sitting motionless in front of the monitor, the flickering effect is imperceptible, but it is and is easily detected by the " pencil test " - it is enough to quickly shake it back and forth in front of the monitor, for example, with a pencil. If the pencil does not merge into one whole, but “breaks up” into several, you observe a stroboscopic effect, the backlight of your monitor flickers.
If earlier I worked at my monitor at minimum brightness , then after opening this effect for me, I set the brightness to maximum - in this case, the backlight works continuously. I read somewhere thatfor the eyes it is the lesser evil .
All TVs, monitors and laptop displays I have seen also have this effect (at non-maximum brightness). Other than Macbooks and old Aquarius LCDs, for some reason.
Sales consultants, of course, are shocked by such knowledge. Tell me where and how to find a high-quality monitor without PWM backlighting ? Do they exist at all?
Do Habr users pay attention to this problem?

@Pontific

On www.overclockers.ru/reviews/monitor/, the author of monitor reviews =DEAD= always writes in detail about the PWM frequency.

Note, if anyone is interested: on laptops, you can adjust the PWM frequency using software. For Intel, this is, for example, IntelPWMControl

And does the flickering of the monitor when updating the picture not bother you? The flickering frequency of the backlight, according to Google, is 175 Hz.

Right now I have 3 Dell monitors in front of me. On two of them, no flickering was noticed, on the third it was noticed (with a pencil test). But I do not see any difference and my eyes are equally tired. What's the catch?

It seems to me that you need to take a camera or a smartphone with a camera and point it at the monitor. By changing the contrast and brightness, you can see the appearance of flicker. The worse the camera, the easier it is to catch.

If you are looking for a laptop with a non-PWM screen.
Personal experience: Asus n751jk with ips screen (matte) is a great thing. I bought myself and solved the longstanding problem of finding a laptop from which my eyes will not get tired. Minus is a heavy 17-shka. But if your priority is the effect on the eyes - DON'T HESITATE, take this laptop. Plus - increased pixel size. And the lack of a wet rag effect, like many cheap matte screens.
I have retested dozens of laptops. I even bought a MACBOOK pro 15 in 2015, but it didn’t suit me either, because. fonts in makosi are very uncomfortable for me (or maybe because the pixels are too small), and my eyes are filled with heaviness, like on a PWM monitor, after half an hour of work.
Before that, I also bought Asus n551js. PWM available. I handed over to the store three days later, my eyes were VERY tired.
At the same time, there is a large DELL sl monitor with some kind of PWM, but the eyes do not get tired of it.
If you have sensitive eyes, please refer to my experience. Do not look at the macbook, let it be beautiful and everyone piss with boiling water from the quality of its screen. What is the quality for if the eyes get tired? Some even conducted studies on why some people's eyes hurt from MacBooks, naming about 30 possible hypotheses.

Now Flicker-Free monitors cost the same as flickering monitors. The Yandex market even has a Flicker-Free filter. There you will find the monitor.

It is strange that you increase the brightness to remove the PWM. On the above mentioned www.overclockers.ru, the author of the reviews, on the contrary, lowers the brightness and increases the contrast. When I chose a 24 monitor for myself, I chose the ASUS PA248Q reviewed there , which, with this indicator, supposedly everything was better than the others, but there is still flicker. By the way, I didn’t know about the pencil, but you can see this miracle on a photo / video camera. On my old 19 viewsonic, such dirty tricks were not noticed (according to the sensations, by the way, the eyes get tired of it less).

Hmm ... I shake a pencil in front of the monitor - it seems "does not fall apart."
I guess I got lucky with the ViewSonic VE902m, 75Hz monitor.
But all the same, if you spend the whole day in front of the monitor, then there will be eye fatigue, while I don’t bully the brightness and contrast.
