There is an existing wordpress site for which you need to create another page template for posts, a page template for previews and make minor changes to the menu layout. Works, if done slowly and without steaming up, for 4-6 hours, in a word, for one working day. We tried to place ads on exchanges - the answer is approximately the same: "I won't lift my tail from the sofa for less than eleven thousand."
On the one hand, I perfectly understand the reluctance to work for a small price, on the other hand, I also don’t want to inflate the project and pay the requested amounts for it. What to do?
PS How to estimate the cost of these works? What price tag to offer?
PPS My willingness to be online during development and the willingness to suggest by code, where and what kind of crutches did the previous developers leave to somehow help?

1. Performing improvements is not a rewarding job, it’s easier to do everything from 0 than to delve into someone else’s code and developments.
2. Working with any cms is a laborious and time-consuming task. And the fact that the customer considers work at 4-6 hours usually turns out to be work for 8-12 hours at least.
3. Do not forget about how much you pay - the quality of work will be the same.
What to do?! - You see all the offers, if in most cases a certain amount is offered, then this is what it is, and not a worldwide conspiracy of freelancers against you!

Judging by the question, there is not enough experience in finding performers. There are a lot of people who are ready to do a task for little money, and there are not so few smart ones among them. It just takes time to go through all these artists... If time is precious , hire freelancers with rich portfolios and high hourly rates. They will complete the task so quickly that in the end it will cost less.
