How to exclude a folder in WSMT?

I am migrating folders and files using windows server migration tools. I do everything as described here https://redmondmag.com/Articles/2015/07/01/Move-Fi... in the second part (the first is about FSMT). Everything goes fine, albeit very slowly, and then the Send-Smigserverdata cmdlet stumbles upon the hidden System Volume Information folder and stops with error 32 - something about insufficient rights.
Before Robocopy was also stuck on this folder, but I simply restarted it by writing /XD "System Volume Information"..
Basically, Robocopy performed the folder transfer, keeping the correct NTFS permissions, and export / import of the registry branch helped to set the permissions for access over the network to some of the shared folders (the rest had to be added manually). So the task is done.
All the same, I would like to know how WSMT gets around the problem of getting stuck on a folder that cannot be accessed.

for such cases I use a file manager, such as total commander, where you can copy with NTFS rights, and if errors occur during copying, he talks about them, and you can skip them
