How to estimate a task for a freelancer

I have never turned to freelancers as I did everything myself.
Now there are so many tasks that I myself no longer have time to do everything on time.
And the question arose of how to evaluate the task for a freelancer. By what criteria do you evaluate the cost of a particular task.

Most often, they are evaluated by the time spent, where the hour of work is fixed, even on the most popular freelance exchange, a field with the price of an hour of work is taken out.
But when I myself take on something, I mostly evaluate it with my finger in the sky, a certain spiritual component, for example, that for 20 tr. I would do it and enjoy the work, and how much time and effort I will spend on this is already the second ...

Offer the f-ru to evaluate it yourself and look there - the price suits you or not. Don't waste time doing rigorous calculations and thinking about whether it's worth that much money.
At the same time, of course, do not forget to draw up a clear terms of reference (or a description of the task at hand with phased milestones), according to which it would be possible to estimate the cost.

Compose TK, publish the project on freelancer.com (or wherever you prefer?), see what they offer for the day. Freelancers are mostly adequate people, they also remember the competition. Throw away the Indians with their $20 inadequate offers, get the average price. Next, we need to communicate.

I always suggest evaluating and comparing offers.
In this case, in no case do not get tied up for a while.
You only want the result. If it is done earlier, it is not scary that you will pay more. If longer, then the problem of processing is not yours, but the developer's.
There are many specialists on free-lance.ru, create a project with a general description and find out offers.
Although, I like weblancer.net more - there are fewer users on it, but the administration is more adequate and the search result is usually better.
