How to enable new notes on macOS Yosemite?

iOS 9 brings new notes with pictures, lists, and more. To sync notes between Macbook and other Apple devices, you need to have up-to-date versions on your phone and computer.
I can't figure out how to get the latest version on my computer, although I updated the OS to the latest version.

You need to go to the AppStore and download El Captain for free. Yosemite does not support new notes.

if the OS is updated, then the notes too :)
