How to edit a transparent white image so that it doesn't turn into a white edited square?

When I try to edit this image - woonem.tk/app/system/img/logo.png in paint, I get a white square, since paint apparently perceives transparent fields as white. How to do normal editing? Maybe use not paint but something else? I drew the picture itself using the Pixelesque - Pixel Art program on Android.
