How to drive virtual machines under hyper-v 2 and hyper-v 3 from one machine?

Judging by the available information, with Win7 / 2008R2 you can only drive virtual machines on hyper-v 2008R2, and with Win8 / 2012 - only hyper-v 2012.
This is some kind of hell: either transfer the entire fleet to 2012 in a jerk, or manage it with two cars. Is there a way out?

I understand that not yet (maybe VMM can). I hope that MS will release a separate update for Hyper-V on WinServ2008(R2), as it was for 2008, although of course it would be better if RSAT for W8 learns to steer the old hypervisors.
