How to draw on an image in Adobe Illustrator so that you can only take a shape later?

Hello, how can I draw over an image (JPG) in Illustrator? I drew a logo on a piece of paper and now I want to draw it graphically. The goal is that I will draw the same figure and copy it and output it and save it as an already graphic file.
Please advise how can I do this? You can't just take and draw ...

Select the object you want to pin (JPG image) and then choose Object > Lock > Selection and you can draw on it in peace.
