How to draw a graph on the server?

A beautiful svg graph is drawn on the client. But I want to "draw" this graph on the server and give the client only a picture. How is this done? As I understand it, there must be some thing that can execute js code on the server and not only execute it, but also render graphics. I saw something similar somewhere a couple of years ago, but I can't find it at all. I only find GoogleCharts, but that's not it.
Has anyone seen something similar?
