How to disable switching desktops when clicking on an application in a MacBook?

If I open an application on one desktop and switch to another and then click on the icon of this application - instead of the application flying to the current desktop, the operating system simply flips me to the desktop with the application.
How to set it up? I just want the application to fly to the current desktop.
