How to disable canvas rendering in chrome?

I am writing a bot in selenium for a heavy online game. When you start the toy in chrome, and exactly in firefox, the processor starts to load very heavily. Looking for ways to reduce stress.
The toy draws complex animations on the canvas. I assume that the processor is mainly loaded with rendering. Can it be turned off somehow? Running a headless browser doesn't help much.

You can disable it via chrome://flags
or launch the browser with the --disable-accelerated-2d-canvas flag
