It is required to give the client access to the administrative panel, but there has already been a case when a client with whom there was a very warm relationship took the site back up, refusing the services that I offer.
Maybe it's done at the hosting level? The surest way is not to give access at all while there is a test period for using the site before buying, but I have a similar model of cooperation.

I would do like. I myself would have pre-installed several components for backup and would have built in an additional small code in the admin panel, which, when trying to use any of these components, would throw out the user and change the password. So to speak, a test of honesty.
Or just do not let him super user.
