How to determine the maximum number of virtual processor cores?
Good afternoon, doing administration and working with VMmanager from ISPsystem, I became interested in how VMmanager divides the processor into virtual cores. For example: i7-7700 has 384 virtual cores.
How does this happen or is there an exact number of virtual cores per physical one, or, for example, the formula can be?

This is a limitation of the platform itself and does not depend on the processor.
It has nothing there, these are virtual cores for virtual machines. The same number will be on the Pentium 4.
I am guided by what was on technet in one of the discussions:
Microsoft supports a total number of processors allocated to virtual machines that is 8 times greater than the total number of logical processors in the hypervisor. for VDI this number is 12.
How to determine the maximum number of virtual processor cores?Read the documentation if the developers wrote this in the documentation or by experience.
How does this happen or is there an exact number of virtual cores per physical one, or, for example, the formula can be?Elementary - you enter any number, and the specified number of cores is displayed to the virtual machine.
