How to decode audio stream to video?

So, God created the world, the Earth and life on it... ((Let's skip everything else and go directly to the existing me, my PC, DVR and, of course, Toaster.))
You need an AV stream from the recorder through an audio cable ( jack output on the recorder) to transfer and decode back to video + audio on the PC. Is it possible, and if so, how?

Does it have a digital output? And then 2016 is kind of in the yard.
And so - no problem, TV tuner and go.
