How to cut out part of a shape in photoshop cc?

Noob question, but I've never come across vector before. There are 2 shapes: a circle and an arrow on it. I need to make one shape (icon), i.e. in a circle, you need to cut a section in the shape of an arrow. How is it done with the shapes? I didn’t find anything on the Internet, methods are everywhere. which do not suit me.

If I work with vector, then I would switch to illustrator. It's easier to cut it out there. Then you can copy in Photoshop. Look also you have an icon with shapes. There you can choose a circle-draw on one layer. Then on another layer above the arrow. Highlight the click on the layer icon with the arrow + control, go to the layer with the circle, press del. Then control D.
