I will not tell you how to cure, but I will share my experience with SBH52.
For my bunch of SE Xperia mini (2011, bt v3) and this headset, everything depends very much on the version of the droid (version of CyanogenMod).
4.0.4 (stock) - good at long distances, up to 3 meters.
4.2 (10) - normal, but more than a couple of meters loses connection, lags.
4.4.x(11) - bad, over half a meter - lag, you can’t listen if the smart is in the left pocket of your pants, and the headset is in the right chest pocket.:(
5.x(12) - approximately like in 11m.
6.x(13) - today, after your question, I cocked it, I have not tried it before. According to the results, as a drain, about 3 meters of distance without lags.
