How to create a Wordpress theme for Themeforest that will be edited with Visual Composer?

Hey! I don't quite understand how a wordpress theme is made to sell. As far as I understand, releasing a theme where the built-in editor allows you to change the text / font / images / links is stupid. She simply will not have sales. Therefore, I want to integrate some kind of visual editor - I settled on VC.
How can I correctly form the development stages so that the theme is edited using this editor? Now I have a ready-made site, which is planted on wordpress. Can I immediately integrate VC into a theme so that it can be edited with a plugin? Or do I need to divide the site into blocks and form demos from these blocks?

I recommend checking out Gutenberg. Behind him is the future. Whoever is the first to file those with his support before the release of Gutenberg in the core of WP will take off delicious cream from the market.

It's better for Elementor to make a theme, more perspective

All VC will not be able to change, it works in the content area (page_content).
First you need to define blocks that will be the same everywhere, where you can make widget areas for customization ( link to example ).
Then determine what VC will change, most likely this is unique content for each page (otherwise there is no point in this whole undertaking).
