How to create a pagination for a category page, where the category and subcategories are displayed?

There is a category page, conditionally: cat=1, it displays records of both this category and its subcategory.
How can I make pagination so that this category and subcategories are displayed when navigating through the pages? Which pagination links should be a get request? Pagination is generated dynamically via an ajax request.
