It is necessary to make a distributed storage system for files, namely images. At the moment, everything is stored on one server and the volume of images is already approaching two terabytes. I would like to make images on a separate server and on a separate subdomain.
But there is a difficulty - thumbnails for images are formed at the moment the page is opened. That is, if a page needs a 50x50 preview, then it is formed at the moment the page is loaded.
I would be grateful for any thoughts on this matter.

What's the problem?
Dedicate a separate server for the views. Upon request, it will download the image from the file server and display it in the required format.

I would just turn to hosting like cloud storage
Logic can stay where it is.
Pictures - can go to another hoster.
