How to cram 39 cameras into a 28 port switch?
Good afternoon dear ones. Need help with CCTV. One enterprise wants to organize video surveillance of 28 cameras, the question arose in such a way that there will be a 32-channel video recorder and a 28-port switch, but the enterprise wanted 11 more cameras. Initially, it was planned to connect 4 cameras via POE switch in order to output a couple of patch cords to a PC. Now when the question arose with 39 cameras in a 4-storey building, the situation became more complicated .. I would be glad for a hint)

In accordance with the "16 rules for building automated control systems", the system must have a margin for expanding capabilities of at least a third. Of course, this is an ideal case, but at least a quarter of the resources should always be free and intended specifically for critical situations :)
When expanding the equipment fleet, consider the theoretical possibility of increasing the number of nodes.
For example, now they want to connect +11 more cameras, because there is a budget for them.
But, let's say, after looking at the layout, we understand that they can ask for another +10 the next time this issue is raised. Immediately count the ports for this extension. If you do not know what the next expansion will be, then it is better to add + 10% of the ports to the actually connected nodes in reserve.
