How to count conversions from a landing page?

There is a landing page with a feedback form, after submitting the form, a modal window appears, with gratitude. The customer says that you need to embed the code from Google for the conversion into the modal - if the page opens, it is considered that the conversion worked.
What is this code? and where can i read about it?

Through Google Tag Manager , you can set up a trigger on the visibility of an element, in your case a modal window.
