How to correctly answer the request "Please confirm the data loss for the defective drive"?

When the server was restarted, something happened and the server did not turn on. Wrote in support, they said that one of the disks from RAID 1 flew off. That everything should be in order, and they can replace the disk within 2 hours. But, they ask for confirmation:
Please confirm the data loss for the defective drive.
Do I understand correctly that I have to confirm that the data has not been lost? If so, why is this required, because if they are lost, then only backups will save, or does the hoster have some kind of "disk recovery magic"?
What would be the best answer to their request?
And how can I check if the data has been lost? They turned on the Rescue mode for me, I went through putty and saw that there is a root directory, the weight of which has not changed. But I can’t view it, du writes to the request:
du: cannot read directory '/root/.oldroot/nfs/lost+found': Permission denied

no, not correct: they write to you "data will be lost, confirm that you are OK"
