How to convert VHDX virtual machine file to VHD?

I had the imprudence to create an image of an old laptop (with Windows 7) in VHDX format (using the Disk2vhd utility ). As it turned out, Oracle VM Virtualbox under Mac cannot open a VHDX file, although a VHD created by the same tool opens fine.
How can I now convert VHDX from VHD (you need a tool either under Windows 7 or under OSX 10.9; everything else - Windows Azure / 8.1 / Server / Hyper-V / Power Shell version 4 is not needed)?

Well, apparently without the missing tools you listed, apparently in any way. VHDX appeared not so long ago and there are not as many tools for working with it as we would like.

That's right, you can convert from VHDX to VHD through the Hiper-V Management Cnsole.
