How to convert .shp to GeoJSON?
Good afternoon!
Downloaded from here openstreetmapdata.com/data/water-polygons polygons. There are several files in the directory, including the shp. I need to convert it to GeoJSON format for overlay later on google maps.
I tried org2org , but it gives me some kind of garbage in the form of a single column with an ordinal value. And that's it.
Tell me, please, what am I doing wrong and how to work with shp files in general? I really don't want to write my converter on the dock www.esri.com/library/whitepapers/pdfs/shapefile.pdf
PS. "shp to geojson converter" googled. Either org2org or projects on github. I just want an ekzeshnik. No freezes! :)

If you want an executable, download QGIS, although it still converts them via gdal.
Well, you have some kind of perversion to impose OSM on Google.
Just do not forget, what you downloaded goes under:
License
Data is copyright OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the ODbL.
