How to convert a 3D model to a 2D dimensioned drawing in SolidWorks?
Good day. I thought of assembling a 3-axis CNC machine here. The search for drawings led me to the Alternative-2 machine model. One gag, I don't know how to handle all sorts of SOLIDWORKS and 3D compasses at all. What is the easiest way to translate 3D models into drawings so that they can be given to turners and millers? There are no computers in the workshops at the factory, and the peasants there are aged, they have never seen any Solids and Compasses, so they need to bring everything on a piece of paper and with dimensions. The solid has functions for automatically arranging sizes and dimensional chains - you can make sketches using them. But first it is better to show everything to familiar design engineers or technologists.
Workers need not only pieces of paper with types and sizes, but also the correct types, sizes, tolerances, with digestible dimensional chains, which are necessary and sufficient. Depending on the purpose of the part, various tolerances for dimensions and shapes can be specified. By default (without tolerances), everything is made according to the 14th grade of accuracy (h14 / H14) (depending on the size, the absolute values \u200b\u200bchange very widely). If you want to do it yourself, then you can take a course in engineering graphics.

Why do you need to make a chart from scratch when there are a bunch of ready-made custom solutions?
