How to connect UART to BeagleBone Black and test it on Linux Debian?

I need to connect a Beagle Bone Black running Debian to a computer via Com Port using UART.
And how to check whether it sends data or not.
I want to say right away that you need to connect to UART1, and infa on the Internet did not help. A big request to give a detailed answer because I'm just learning. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

To connect to a computer, you need one MAX3232A chip in a DIP-16 package and five ceramic capacitors 0.1uF 24V. Shop Chip and Dip - they will show the schematic there.
Without a microcircuit, you will burn the UART port.
Upd: or USB-UART adapter based on FT232, ibid.
