How to connect a subwoofer via radio?

Now many manufacturers produce systems where the subwoofer is connected via a radio channel. What is the best way to implement this yourself? Bluetooth, or some other protocol or type of communication? I now have a PC connected via Bluetooth to the 2.0 amplifier.
